Cards of Destiny – Your Yearly Spreads Cards – The Key to Your Past, Present and Future
How the Fate Card system works is quite magical in many ways. First, instead of months, the year is divided into seven planetary periods, each lasting 52 days. They begin each year on your birthday. Every year, on your birthday, you begin the period of Mercury, which lasts 52 days. The whole sequence is as follows:
Mercury – starts on your birthday, lasts 52 days Venus – lasts 52 days Mars – lasts 52 days Jupiter – lasts 52 days Saturn – lasts 52 days Uranus – lasts 52 days Neptune – starts 52 days before your next birthday
The start dates for each of these periods can be calculated by simply adding 52 days to your birthday, and so on. For example, for a person born on December 5, the dates would be
Mercury – December 5 Venus – January 27 Mars – March 20 Jupiter – May 11 Saturn – July 2 Uranus – August 23 Neptune – October 14
These periods begin and end on the same dates, except on leap years for a small number of birthdays.
At each of these periods there are usually two cards (Neptune often only has one). These cards are not selected by you. They are calculated from the day of your birth. So these cards and the others in your “annual draw,” as we call it, are all fixed from the time of your birth. The two charts of each period, which we call the planetary period charts, govern these 52 day periods and tell you what will happen, and often with whom it will happen. For example, someone who, as a 4 of hearts and jack of diamonds in his Venus period, could marry (4 of hearts) a young man Diamond (jack of diamonds). And often the charts that appear in our planetary periods are the very birth charts of the people we know, assuring us that they will be the ones we interact with at that time. It’s amazing sometimes how well it can work. I remember when I took my first card class, I realized I had an A of hearts with a 2 of clubs in Venus, right then. Well, Catherine Oxenberg, a famous actress whose birth chart is a 2 of Clubs, was another student in that class. And the A of hearts represented my strong attraction to her. I was stunned when I found out, and a bit embarrassed, thinking she would know my secret.
These planetary period charts are important for understanding what happens during these 52 day periods and useful for making future predictions. But there are five other cards in the annual breakdown that are actually much more powerful than these. We call them the One Year Influence Maps.
One Year Influence Maps
These five cards are the most powerful of all. In fact, the people in the special family of seven that we talked about in our last lesson only have three. But either way, these are the cards to look for first when determining what a year has in store. The five cards are: The Long Range card The Pluto card The Result card The Environment card The Movement card
The last two are the ones the “special family of seven” doesn’t have. It’s a little complicated to explain why now. Just put it down to their fixed nature for now. We’re going to talk a bit about each of these cards now.
The long range card is the most important of all. I’m calling the headliner card of the year. It basically indicates something, or in some cases someone, who will be the most important holder of your attention for a given year. I can often scan the long-term charts for someone and see how their future will unfold over a period of years. It’s quite fascinating. But whenever I’m doing map reading on my weekly radio show, the first place I look is the caller’s long-range card. Usually he will tell me everything I need to know. It’s so important. Additionally, you have another long range map found in your planetary decision map’s yearly distribution, which does not appear in these free apps. When you want the full picture of the year, you’ll want to know both. I remember when I appeared on the Marilu Henner show a few years ago. She was studying her prints and looking for cards that would represent the birth of her newborn son. There were no birth cards present. However, his birth card was his long-range card! When I pointed this out to him, his skepticism turned to surprise and wonder.
The Pluto Card and the Result Card are linked. At the start of each year they both tell you, when their meanings are combined, what challenges you will face this year. Sometimes these are cards of people you know or will meet. Usually they represent something you want and don’t have at the start of your year. When this happens, they are an important goal. Other times, these cards represent changes that you have ignored, but are necessary. We used to call these Challenge Maps. The cool thing is that every year you are guaranteed to make these changes and the reward is your score card, which is always interpreted positively. Sometimes it represents a quality you will possess, and in some cases a person. I remember predicting the birth of my second son Michael because that year I had the king of hearts, called the father card, as my outcome card. That’s how simple and amazing this system is.
The Environment Card is always a blessing card that gives us gifts for the current year. It can also be a person, a money card, a movement card or a love card. Either way every year will be something that will help you. Wouldn’t you like to know what yours is?
The move map is equally important. It’s a “localized” map, although that’s a little hard to explain in an introductory article like this. What it often does is identify major years of success, fame, recognition, reward, or in rare cases, caution. Some of the most important cycles of our life are heralded by our displacement map.
Your birth chart has an annual release, as does your planetary decision chart. So for most people that means you have two gaps to look at each year. With so many fate cards, you have a lot of information about each month of the year and about the year in general. This all probably sounds a bit complicated. However, I guarantee you can learn this in an hour or less. Imagine, you invest an hour of your time to learn a tool that you can use for the rest of your life. I have trading clients who spend thousands of dollars for me to review their annual variances to help them make trading decisions.
